Patient Transfer Boards

A Patient Transfer Board is a bridging board that can help the user to slide transfer in a seated position across a small gap between two surfaces of a similar height, either independently or with assistance.

It is made of a strong rigid plastic with a round rubber anti-slip pad at each end on the underside and is available in two shapes:

• Curved
• Straight

The Curved Patient Transfer Board has one central hand hold for carrying purposes and is shaped to help the user to transfer around inconveniently positioned obstacles such as the top of a wheel on a wheelchair or the arm support on a chair.

The Curved Patient Transfer Board can be used to transfer across gaps of up to 25.5cm (10 inches) between the presenting sides resting surfaces that are positioned either parallel to each other or at angles of up to 45 Degrees.

It has a weight capacity of 165kg (26 stone).

The Straight Patient Transfer Board has two hand holds, one at each end where a Pull Strap can be attached allowing the user to pull and transfer themselves across.

The Straight Patient Transfer Board can be used to transfer across gaps of up to 25.5cm (10 inches) between the presenting sides resting surfaces that are positioned parallel to each other.

It has a weight capacity of 165kg (26 stone).

By sitting on a Slide Sheet on top of the Patient Transfer Board will make it easier for the user to transfer either independently or with assistance.
